The Accounting Services Division provides oversight of financial and compliance audits of school districts and school district-sponsored charter schools. The Division performs on-site status and procedural reviews of school districts, performs on-site status reviews of school district-sponsored charter schools, and issues review reports on their compliance status. Additionally, the Division provides technical assistance to school districts, charter schools, counties, community college districts, and cities and towns, through presentations, workshops, annual budget and financial reporting packages, and uniform systems of accounting and financial reporting. The Division also reviews annual expenditure limitation reports of entities to ensure their spending is within constitutional limits.
