This report provides information on 12 of the sunset factors the Legislature is to consider in determining whether to continue or terminate the Department of Corrections (Department). The report summarizes previous performance audits conducted as part of the Department's sunset review that identify opportunities for improvement and notes the Department has met its overall objective and purpose. In addition, the report presents information on changes the Department made to its policies and procedures to help ensure it complies with statutory requirements for checking that inmate store product prices do not exceed retail prices for comparable products and for spending inmate store proceeds that it receives.
